TURKEY HOME
HOME OF POETRY
This far-reaching project, run in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to introduce Turkey’s wonders and its cultural and artistic richness, is back with “Home of Poetry,” a promotional film that aims to promote Turkey on the world stage. The video, the concept for which was designed by Genna, is produced by ATL Yapım and directed by Şenol Korkmaz with the cinematographers Michel Dierickx and Avi Karpick.
A selection of Turkish republican-era poems about the poetic wonders of Turkey were consolidated into a single poem and translated into English. The wonders that inspire Turkish poets are demonstrated from the perspective of a foreign art lover, who has just had their first encounter with Turkish poetry.
In addition to the three-minute-38-second-long online version, Home of Poetry has created a further three 60-second versions for television broadcasts. The video was drafted and shot in four months. The video, which was shot in Istanbul, Kütahya, Isparta, Bursa, Malatya, Trabzon, Antalya, Muğla, Mardin, İzmir, Denizli and in many districts, also includes an opening scene filmed in the Abbey Library of Saint Gallen, located in Switzerland.
Owing to its concept, this unique video showcases the touristic beauties of Turkey and the riches of Turkish poetry to the world’s art lovers. The project will continue to promote our country with new works in different fields of art.
